Gaming and Athletics

The Gaming and Athletics section is responsible for supervising the enforcement of laws related to licensing and regulation of gaming and athletics activities, including boxing, mixed martial arts, and simulcast wagering. It is also responsible for the collection of racing taxes and fees, as specified by state law.

The division promulgates rules and regulations governing pari-mutuel wagering, boxing, and mixed martial arts; handles licensing, finger printing and photo badging of all personnel and licensees; ensures that security is furnished by licensees of pari-mutuel facilities, boxing, and mixed martial arts events; and provides aid and assistance to the public, as requested, including forms and copies of rules and regulations.

The section also oversees simulcast-wagering operations at Bally's Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort and Bally's Tiverton Casino & Hotel and/or participates in collection of tax revenue, hearings and issues occupational licenses. The section enforces, adjusts, amends, and interprets all rules and regulations governing pari-mutuel wagering sports and all professional boxing and mixed martial arts events in the state.
